Credits and plans

One rule covers all of it: thinking is free, filming costs. You can write, rewrite, regenerate and edit a film all afternoon without spending a credit, and the export is what credits pay for.

What costs and what does not#

Your balance is on the composer, in the editor and in the export window, so the number is where the spending happens rather than three screens away.

Free
Writing a brief, reading your site, letting Via make the film, making it again, editing every shot, and playing the film in the editor.
Costs credits
Exporting a film: 10 credits.
Refunded
An export that fails. You are never charged for a file you did not get.
Rewrites
Improve this prompt spends nothing, but needs a balance above zero.

Where credits come from#

A new account starts at zero. Credits come from a monthly plan, which adds its allowance at each billing period, valid until that period ends, or from a pack, bought once.

Creator
600 credits a month
Pro
1,000 credits a month
Max
Up to 8,000 credits a month
Credit packs
One-off, no subscription. Credits never expire.

Running out#

Nothing you have made is locked away at zero credits. The editor keeps working, the film keeps playing, and the only things that wait are the export and the rewrite button.

A monthly plan tops your balance up on its own; a pack adds to it once. Which one to take is a question of how many films a month you actually ship.
